M&H Elements Red Wine Cask is part of the Elements series from Milk & Honey, Israel's first whisky distillery, founded in Tel Aviv in 2014. Each Elements release showcases one cask type, and this one uses ex-red wine casks from Israeli wineries, including STR casks (shaved, toasted and re-charred, a technique pioneered by the distillery's consultant, Dr. Jim Swan). It is bottled at 46% ABV, non chill-filtered and uncolored, in a 750ml bottle.
The red wine wood gives the whisky a rosy tint and a fruity, spicy profile: red berries, plum and cherry, a touch of dark chocolate and toasted oak over M&H's soft, honeyed malt, finishing warm with gentle tannin and spice.
