Isle of Raasay Distillery of the Year Special Release is a limited bottling celebrating the young Hebridean distillery's award as Scottish Distillery of the Year. Founded in 2017 on the tiny Isle of Raasay, off the coast of Skye, it was the island's first legal distillery, and its whisky is made from a combination of peated and unpeated spirit matured in casks including ex-Rye, Chinkapin oak and Bordeaux red wine.
Bottled non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, this special release layers Raasay's lightly peated, fruity Island style with rich, smooth undertones: dark fruit, spice and a gentle, earthy smoke on the nose, then a palate of orchard fruit, red-wine richness and soft peat, finishing warm and lingering.
