Isle of Raasay Dun Cana Sherry Quarter Cask is a limited release from the young distillery founded in 2017 on the tiny Isle of Raasay, off the coast of Skye, and named for the island's distinctive flat-topped hill. It begins with Raasay's signature combination of lightly peated and unpeated spirit, initially matured in ex-rye whiskey casks, then finished in small sherry quarter casks seasoned with Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso.
Bottled at 104 proof (52% ABV), non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, in a 700mL bottle, it captures peat and sweetness in elegant balance: rich raisin, dark chocolate and gentle smoke on the nose, then fig, dried citrus peel, toffee, toasted oak and soft peat on the palate, finishing with layered sherry sweetness, wood spice and a whisper of coastal brine. A beautifully composed dram from Scotland's Distillery of the Year, and a collector's bottle for fans of new-wave Hebridean whisky.
