Rabbit Hole Bespoke Gin is a barrel-finished gin from Rabbit Hole Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, best known for its Boxergrail rye and Cavehill bourbon. The gin base is a London Dry-style spirit sourced from a UK distillery, which Rabbit Hole finishes in its own used Kentucky rye whiskey barrels, picking up spice and vanilla, and bottles at 44.5% ABV (89 proof).
Paste Magazine found toffee, pine, orange citrus and vanilla on the nose, then sweet citrus, florals and spice in equal measure on the palate, with an orange-creamsicle quality balanced by substantial juniper and peppery rye spice, and scored it 7.8/10, recommending it especially in a Negroni. It is a bourbon-country take on gin: try it in a Martinez, a gin Old Fashioned or a boulevardier-style drink, and let the rye barrel do the talking.
