Ozeki Nigori Sake
Ozeki Nigori is a creamy, cloudy sake from Ozeki, founded in 1711 in the Nada district of Hyogo Prefecture and one of Japan's leading sake brewers. In 1979 Ozeki became the first Japanese brewery to open a sake brewery in the United States, in Hollister, California, and this nigori is brewed there with California rice and pure water using the company's centuries-old expertise.
Nigori is coarsely filtered so fine rice sediment stays in the bottle, giving it a milky look, a velvety texture, and a soft, natural sweetness. Ozeki Nigori is smooth and rich with notes of rice, melon, and a hint of tropical fruit, finishing clean at 14.5% ABV. Shake gently and serve well chilled with spicy food, sushi, or dessert. This 750 ml bottle is one of the best values in nigori and a great first sake.
