The Debate is a Napa Valley project built on a single argument: that site, not cellar technique, is what separates great Cabernets. The winery sources from a handful of celebrated vineyards across the valley and makes every lot the same way, with the same picking philosophy, native fermentations and a uniform French oak regime, so that the finished wines put the vineyards themselves side by side and let the drinker settle the debate. Denali Vineyard is one of its single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings, a small, meticulously farmed Napa Valley site that yields dark, concentrated fruit with firm, mountain-leaning tannin. The 2018 vintage was one of Napa's finest of the decade, a long, moderate season with no heat spikes that produced deeply colored, balanced wines built to age. Expect a full-bodied Cabernet around 14.5% ABV with blackberry, cassis, black cherry, graphite, cocoa, sage and cedar, dense but polished tannins and a long, savory finish that will keep improving for another decade. Decant an hour and serve with a dry-aged ribeye, lamb rack or venison. 750ml bottle. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
