Barsol Perfecto Amor is a Peruvian aperitif from Barsol, the pisco house in the Ica valley south of Lima. It revives a traditional Peruvian style in which fresh grape must is fortified with pisco, in the manner of a mistelle or Pineau des Charentes: aromatic Italia and Torontel grape must is blended with Barsol pisco to preserve the fruit's natural sweetness and perfume. Bottled at 17% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The taste is fresh, floral grape with honey, orange blossom and a clean, gently sweet finish, richer than a white vermouth and brighter than a dessert wine. Serve it chilled or over ice as an aperitif, top it with soda for a spritz, or use it in place of vermouth in a pisco martini or a Peruvian take on the Bamboo. A lovely, little-known bottle for wine and pisco lovers.
