Branson Grande Champagne VSOP is the sipping tier of the Branson Cognac range created by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson's Sire Spirits with the Raymond Ragnaud family, fifth-generation producers who have farmed Grande Champagne, the region's premier cru, since the 1860s. Unlike the Phantom and Royal bottlings, this VSOP is made entirely from Grande Champagne Ugni Blanc, where chalky Campanian soils produce the slowest-aging, most elegant eaux-de-vie in Cognac. It is double distilled in the Ragnaud family's antique copper pot still and aged up to seven years in French Sessile oak casks, some more than fifty years old, before bottling at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle. Cocktail Society describes a golden-brown color, a nose of banana, raisin and tobacco, and a sweet, buttery palate of banana, walnut and bread pudding, recommending it neat or lightly chilled. Branson Grande Champagne VSOP was honored at the 2022 Bartender Spirits Awards, the competition judged by working bartenders on quality, mixability and value.
