Branson Phantom VS Cognac
Branson Cognac is the house of Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, launched in 2018 through his wholly owned Sire Spirits and produced in partnership with the Raymond Ragnaud family, fifth-generation growers who have farmed Grande Champagne vineyards since the 1860s. Phantom is the entry point of the range, a VS built on Ugni Blanc eaux-de-vie drawn chiefly from the Borderies and Fins Bois crus, double distilled in the family's century-old copper pot still and aged up to four years in French Sessile oak casks, some of which have been in service for more than fifty years. It is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle with the brand's signature coat of arms. Cocktail Society describes a light golden-brown color, a sweet nose of lemon, orange and chocolate, and a grape-forward palate with apple, raisin and a touch of tobacco, recommending it for cocktails rather than neat sipping. Branson's Royal VSOP and Grande Champagne VSOP both medaled at the 2021 and 2022 Bartender Spirits Awards, and Phantom shares the same Ragnaud cellar and house style at a more approachable price.
