Chica-Chida Peanut Butter Agave Spirit
Chica-Chida Peanut Butter Agave Spirit is the Jalisco-made shot that Barstool Sports comedian Caleb Pressley launched in 2024 with Piermont Brands, after spirits veteran Brian Axelrod handed him a sample and he decided the world needed peanut butter tequila. The base is a Mexican espadín agave spirit distilled in Tequila, Jalisco, blended with an allergen-free peanut butter extract and bottled at 64 proof, 32% ABV, a step down from tequila strength that turns the burn into something closer to a dessert. The result tastes exactly like it sounds: roasted peanut butter and a little salt up front, the earthy, cooked-agave backbone of the spirit underneath keeping it from going syrupy, and a smooth, nutty finish that disappears fast enough to make the second round inevitable. The brand calls it explosively flavorful and built for shots, and that is where it lives, chilled in a shot glass, but it also makes a ridiculous espresso martini, a peanut butter old fashioned, or a float over a cold chocolate stout. It comes in a tall 750ml bottle with the hand-drawn label and the motto respect la hora mera, a conversation piece before it is even opened. One of the fastest-growing novelty spirits in the Southern Glazer's book and new to California.
