Hans Reisetbauer Apple in Oak Barrel is a 375ml, 44% ABV barrel-aged apple brandy from Hans Reisetbauer in Axberg, Austria, one of the world's most acclaimed fruit distillers. It is distilled from 100% organic, estate-grown apples, primarily Jonagold, handpicked from the family farm's 7,000 trees, and it takes 11 kg of fruit to make a single liter.
The mash ferments for 14 days at a precise 19°C, is distilled twice in a Christian Carl copper pot still, and ages around seven years in oak. Aromas of yellow apple skin, tarragon and wet clay lead to baked red apple, cinnamon, allspice and galangal. Sip it neat as a digestif or in place of calvados in cocktails.
