Home Base Spirits Bourbon Whiskey
Home Base Bourbon is the flagship whiskey from Home Base Spirits, founded in 2015 by Oakland twins Ali and Sam Blatteis and now based in a Berkeley, California warehouse where the sisters blend and mature their spirits. The producer calls it a balanced, delicate, grain-forward bourbon. The current Batch 40 (released October 2025) was distilled at Corbin Cash Distillery in Atwater, CA from 60% organic yellow dent corn grown in the Sacramento Valley, 30% malted barley from Mecca Grade Estate Malt in Madras, Oregon, and 10% malted wheat grown in Woodland, CA and malted at Admiral Maltings in Alameda. It aged four years in new 30-gallon char #4 American oak barrels in Atwater and Berkeley and is bottled at 46% ABV. Home Base says the malt character of honey, maple and nut plays against caramel, toffee and vanilla, and recommends it neat, on ice or in cocktails. It is Craft Malt Certified, Verified Water Certified, and was a 2023 Good Food Award finalist. Every batch's farms, maltsters and distillation dates are published on the label.
