Iconoclast Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Iconoclast began as a collaboration between the Terlato family and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, a Napa Valley Cabernet built on the idea that rules are made to be challenged and that classic style does not have to follow the crowd. The Terlatos, who have been importing and producing fine wine for three generations and own Chimney Rock and Rutherford Hill in Napa, draw on their valley-wide grower relationships for the fruit, assembling a Cabernet Sauvignon that reads as unmistakably Napa: ripe, polished and generous. The wine is aged roughly 20 months in French oak, which adds baking spice and a rounded, lush texture without burying the fruit, and finishes around 14.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. In the glass it shows deep ruby with purple edges, bold and bright dark fruit, blackberry and black cherry, layered with vanilla and sweet spice, carried by supple tannins into a long, smooth finish. It drinks well on release and is a natural match for grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, lamb burgers or a sharp aged cheddar. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
