Iconoclast Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir
Iconoclast was born from a partnership between Four Seasons and Terlato Wines, created to bring the polish and culinary focus of the Four Seasons experience to California wine. The wines are crafted by Terlato winemakers Elizabeth Vianna and Bryan Parker, who aim for balance and a restrained, elegant style rather than an overly extracted one. Thoughtful acidity gives the wines lift and freshness at the table. This Pinot Noir is grown in Santa Barbara County, where cool ocean air and fog moderate the vineyards and give the fruit a long, even ripening season. Bottled at 13.5% alcohol, the wine leads with blackberry, plum and baking spice, then moves into elegant dark fruit flavors with polished tannins and a supple texture. The finish is long and notable. It is a good match for roast duck, grilled pork tenderloin and mushroom dishes, and it also works with salmon in a light sauce. Serve it slightly cooler than room temperature, and give it a few minutes to open in the glass. 750ml bottle. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
