Indri Dru is the cask strength expression from Indri, the Piccadily Distillery single malt from Haryana, India that has become one of the most awarded whiskies in the world. Dru (Sanskrit for "wood") is matured in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled without dilution at 57.2% ABV, non chill-filtered and with no added color, in a 750ml bottle. It is the bottle to reach for after Indri Trini if you want the distillery's spirit at full intensity.
The nose is rich with malted barley, honey and tropical fruit, mango and pineapple, plus vanilla and toasted oak. The palate is bold and velvety with caramel, ripe fruit, baking spice and charred oak, and the finish is long, warm and sweet-spicy. Northern India's subtropical climate matures whisky fast, so this drinks like something far older. Add water slowly and watch it open up.
