KIN A-Peel Banana Liqueur
KIN A-Peel is a banana liqueur built on KIN White Whiskey, the unaged California spirit from the Lax family's Los Angeles brand. It began during the pandemic, when imported banana liqueurs became hard to find and disrupted a top-selling banana cocktail that brand manager and bartender Taylor Lax ran at his bar. Finding nothing on the market that tasted like real banana, he made his own by infusing overripe bananas and peels into the family's white whiskey, which drinkers had long described as carrying a natural plantain note. The first batches were made in a simple sous-vide bag; scaling the recipe into a commercial product took nearly four years, during which founder Bernard Lax, an early fan of the homemade version, passed away unexpectedly. The finished liqueur is bottled at 23.5% ABV (47 proof).
