KIN White Whiskey is the flagship spirit of KIN, a family-run Los Angeles brand founded by Bernard Lax and now operated by his son Taylor Lax and nephew Eric. Inspired by Deep South moonshine culture, Bernard spent years sourcing Georgia moonshine before perfecting his own recipe in a small Venice Beach setup and contract-distilling it in California. The white whiskey is unaged and never touches a barrel; retail listings describe it as made from American-grown corn and toasted barley, distilled once in a copper still, cut with clear spring water and run through a proprietary filtration system to avoid the harsh, solvent-like edge common to unaged spirits. It is bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV). The producer's listed aroma notes are almond, tropical fruit, coconut and banana, with plantain, marzipan, vanilla and marshmallow on the palate, and that natural plantain character is what later inspired the brand's A-Peel banana liqueur.
