Rhum Bologne Rhum Agricole Blanc 50
Rhum Bologne Blanc 50 is the flagship white rhum agricole of Guadeloupe's oldest operating distillery, located in Basse-Terre on the road to Saint-Claude at the foot of La Soufrière volcano, facing the Caribbean Sea. The estate traces to the de Bologne family, Protestants who settled the island in the 17th century; in 1830 it was bought by Jean-Antoine Amé-Noël, a free man of color who became Guadeloupe's first major Black landowner, and in 1887 the sugar plantation became a distillery devoted entirely to agricultural rum. Since 1930 it has been run by the Sargenton-Callard family across four generations. The rum is distilled from fresh-pressed sugarcane juice, not molasses, grown on roughly 150 hectares of the estate's volcanic soils, including the rare black cane that Bologne is the only Guadeloupe producer to cultivate, and run through a copper Créole column still. Bottled at 50% ABV under the Guadeloupe geographical indication, this one-liter white rhum is the base of the island's ti' punch and daiquiris. The distillery is certified a Living Heritage Company, holds the HVE level 3 environmental label, and won six medals at the 2021 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
