The Reveries "Murder of Crows" Rare Release Bourbon Whiskey Batch 1
The Reveries is the whiskey project of Jay West, known across the bourbon community as T8ke, launched in 2025 out of Middleburg, Virginia. West sources individual barrels from Kentucky and Indiana distillers and gives them further time in Virginia's warmer, more humid climate, then bottles one cask at a time at true barrel strength with no coloring, filtering, or additives. Murder of Crows is the second entry in the brand's Rare Release series after The Raven, and it's the more ambitious of the two: a bespoke blend of 24 barrels of straight bourbon aged 9 to 16 years, which is then finished in oak casks, with each individual finishing barrel bottled as its own small group selection. This is Batch 1, bottled at 126.7 proof (63.35% ABV). Expect the dense, spicy, well-aged character of West's older bourbon stocks with an extra layer of oak from the finish. Very limited, and each finishing barrel drinks a little differently from the last.
