Trascendente Mezcal Espadín
Mezcal Trascendente was launched in 2020 by the Bianciardi-Salcido family and is produced in the Tlacolula de Matamoros valley of Oaxaca's Central Valleys, a Zapotec region within a UNESCO-recognized cultural landscape. The agaves are grown by native communities, cooked with sustainably sourced wood from the Sierra Juárez, and the house deliberately limits combustion smoke during roasting so agave, fermentation and the spring water of Yagul lead the profile. Fermentation is wild and slow with natural yeasts, followed by double distillation in copper pot stills with careful heads-and-tails cuts under a fifth-generation maestro mezcalero. This Espadín is a 100% agave joven bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). The producer describes a citrus-led aroma of orange leaf, tangerine, cedar leaf and lemon tea, with noticeable minerality, a long finish and a subtle smoky touch, recommending it as an aperitif, in cocktails or for sipping. Trascendente joined the Spiribam America portfolio for its 2025 US launch. The brand funds hummingbird rescue and pollinator gardens in Mexico through its Hummingbird Initiative.
