Wolfburn Batch #458 is a limited small-batch release from the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland, built in 2013 in Thurso on the site of an original Wolfburn distillery from 1821. Handmade by a tiny team and numbered by batch, these releases showcase individual marriages of casks that the distillery felt deserved a bottling of their own, presented at 92 proof, non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, in a 700mL bottle.
Pouring radiant gold, it offers vanilla, malted barley and subtle floral notes with orchard fruit and honeyed sweetness on the nose, then a velvety, smooth palate of honey, caramel and gentle maltiness with toasted oak and a subtle spicy undertone, finishing long with toffee, oak, dried fruit and a touch of herbal intrigue.
