Yeyo Blanco High Proof Tequila takes the brand's highlands blanco and bottles it at 48% ABV (96 proof), sixteen proof points above the standard release, for more concentration and texture. It is produced by master distiller Sergio Cruz at NOM 1414, Feliciano Vivanco y Asociados in Arandas, Los Altos de Jalisco, from estate-grown Tequilana Weber agave raised in the region's red volcanic soil. The agave is slow-cooked in stone and brick ovens, roller-milled, fermented for more than 190 hours in stainless steel with deep well water and a soundtrack of Mozart, and double distilled in copper pot stills. Drinkhacker rated it A- (9/10), finding a nose led by lemon and agave that opens into orange-marmalade sweetness, a palate that is surprisingly sweet, fruity and gently floral with restrained peppery spice at the back, and a finish carrying a slight hint of salt; the reviewer noted the extra proof adds warmth without harshness.
