Yeyo Blanco Tequila is the flagship of a brand founded by Jon Bullinger in 2010 and relaunched in 2019 at the same family distillery: NOM 1414, Feliciano Vivanco y Asociados in Arandas, in the heart of the Los Altos highlands. Master distiller Sergio Cruz works with estate-grown Tequilana Weber agave from the red volcanic soil of the Arandas highlands. The piñas are slow-cooked in stone and brick ovens, milled on a roller mill, and fermented in stainless steel tanks with champagne yeast and deep well water for more than 190 hours while a continuous Mozart playlist plays in the fermentation room. It is then double distilled in copper pot stills and bottled unaged at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle with an all-glass cork stopper. Tequila Matchmaker's community, which has rated it more than 750 times, tags cooked agave, citrus, black pepper, grass, flowers and minerals on the nose and cooked agave, black and white pepper, citrus, minerality, cinnamon and anise on the palate; reviewers repeatedly call it a well-balanced, easy sipper and a strong value.
